In addition to providing oversight of cases that are brought within their respective circuits, Supreme Court Justices also have the authority to decide which ones can be brought before the full Supreme Court (where four justices have to agree to hear a case).

Currently, the court’s originalist faction is now overseeing a number of circuits where key battleground states are located, that likely will make it easier for the Trump campaign to get its legal challenges before the high court.

— Justice Samuel Alito will oversee the 3rd Circuit, which includes Pennsylvania

— Justice Clarence Thomas will oversee the 11th Circuit, which includes Georgia

— Justice Brett Kavanaugh was assigned the Sixth Circuit, which includes Michigan

— Justice Amy Coney Barrett is overseeing the Seventh Circuit, which includes Wisconsin

The Trump campaign has launched federal lawsuits or other legal challenges in each of these states, though several cases in lower courts have already been tossed out. Some have already anointed Joe Biden as President. If true, we wish him and his family well.

The one indicator we currently have that the election has not been decided is that $600,000,000 of election bets have not yet been paid off to the betting public. Of all the things we see both parties and the media spouting, nothing seems more telling than this.

The great news about Teds Community and its residents, is that as a Community, we are anti politics, anti-political party. We care about making a better community, not how friends of greedy politicians (especially national) make more money for themselves and their families. We have finally figured out that support of any political party falls into the trap of avoiding responsibility ourselves, for creating our own futures. Political favors are no longer the banner we hang our hats on for economic or social survival. If we can’t do it ourselves, Politicians certainly aren’t going to do it for us.

Sure, not all politicians are greedy. Some take the job to help us. We understand that and we support and cherish them. But too many take care of themselves first, and us later. And that is the problem! There are far too many Politicians doing that, and this election, has made it obvious.

When it’s all over, someone’s family will be in the White House., No matter who it is, it won’t change Teds Community’s mission. We will be taking care of our Community, no excuses, no reasons for failure. We are responsible for our futures, and we won’t abdicate that responsibility any longer.

Claude Smith, Teds Community Resident
